Keeping your dogs and cats nails trimmed is vital for their health and well being. Long nails can cause pain and issues with mobility, especially in our older pets. Nails left untrimmed can grow long enough to curl under and into the pads or paw, causing extreme discomfort and possible infection. Untrimmed nails can split or rip, resulting in expensive and unhappy trips to the vet.
Regular nail maintenance keeps quicks short which means the nail can be clipped shorter. If the quick has grown out long from lack of care, it will take numerous trims for the quick to recede and the nail to be clipped shorter.
Your pets nails should be maintained regularly and trimmed at least once every 4-6 weeks. Now with Magic Pawz, it's never been easier! Take away the stress of traveling to the Vet or Groomer, Stephanie comes directly to your pet in the comfort of your own home.
It is recommended to have the nails trimmed once or twice every 4-6 weeks, depending on the animal and how fast their nails grow. Some nails grow faster/longer while some dogs take lots of walks and their nails are naturally filed down. It depends on your pet, your routines and your life! An easy way to tell if it’s nail trimming time is if you can HEAR your pets nail click on the floor and if you can SEE that they are starting to curve. If your kitty is starting to "stick" to the furniture, rugs & you, it's time for a nail trim!
